Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead day-to-day functioning of the school
  • Work with local leaders, teachers, staff, and parents to assure a consistent, high-functioning learning environment
  • Implement a system to monitor student progress, including maintaining accurate attendance records
  • Develop school curriculum with the support of an advisory team
  • Manage the school’s discretionary budget

 Position Summary:

The Case Management Team Coordinator is an essential member of an interdisciplinary team, working to strengthen and sensitize the clinical and case management teams to the social and emotional aspects of a client’s life. The Case Management Team Coordinator is required to have strong case management skills to guide staff members in assisting clients and their families to address and resolve issues related to poverty, illness, education, mental health, and substance use.

The Case Management Team Coordinator coordinates all psycho-social and mental health programs and services to clients and their families in conjunction with clinic staff and other units as appropriate.

Program implementation duties:

  • Oversee case management of all clients involving various issues such as child neglect, physical abuse, domestic violence, substance use, ARV non-adherence, financial hardship, food insecurity, etc.
  • Supervise and oversee counseling of clients in order to assist them and support them with above-mentioned hardships while promoting self-empowerment, decision-making, and personal growth.
  • Supervise and assist in crisis management, counseling, and interventions.
  • Oversee screening and psycho-social assessment process
  • Assist clients and staff in navigating available services both internally and externally, especially in relation to clinical services.
  • Oversee home visit component and provide necessary support
  • Oversee weekly support group programming in various topics as needed
  • Coordinate client events that involve pertinent social issues such as Child Protection Week, 16 Days of Activism, etc.
  • Develop collaborative partnerships between Ubuntu and other service providers, including participation in assigned community meetings.
  • Participate in case review meetings and multi/inter-disciplinary team meetings as a contributing member.
  • Maintain and enforce confidentiality of all client files, documents, and information
  • Remain abreast of developments in the child development field to enhance professional growth and development.

Additional Supervisory duties:

  • Provide on-going supervision to Caseworkers as well as conducting performance evaluations and other supervisory duties.
  • Provide in-house professional development trainings on various psycho-social issues for all appropriate staff

Administrative and other duties:

  • Collaborate with other units, ensure that the eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance process for the program is fully implemented
  • Support and participate in the ongoing evaluation of programs
  • Maintain an up-to-date community resource directory for the program

  • Monitor and maintain accuracy of program data and documentation of program activities
  • Ensure compliance with Government Standards and state and local licensing requirements

 Experience

  • At least 5 years experience working with parents and children
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience with strong leadership skills
  • Strong psycho-social skills and understanding of various counseling approaches and interventions
  • Experience working with families affected by poverty, violence, and HIV is preferred
  • Must be able to travel and make home visits within the community, located in a high-risk, low-income neighbourhood
  • Must have strong computer skills
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral forms.
  • Fluency in isiXhosa and English

 Educational Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or relevant field, masters preferred

Salary:

 The incumbent will have responsibility for the management of services and processes that support the physical structure of the Ubuntu Pathways Campus. This is a wide-ranging position with a diverse range of responsibilities including procurement and contract management, building and grounds maintenance, cleaning, health and safety, security, signage, and utilities and communications infrastructure.
The Operations Officer will be involved in both planning and day-to-day operations in relation to buildings and premises. The position reports to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with working processes of the equipment and the physical structure;
  • Inspection of and supervision of the condition of electrical, air conditioning, plumbing and other essential facilities and equipment and maintenance of up to date and accurate records of the condition of the equipment and other systems in the building;
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise;
  • Regular scheduled evaluation and maintenance of the facilities as well as facilitation of the cleaning, repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment;
  • Supervising and coordinating work of contractors and checking that agreed work by staff or contractors are completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies;
  • Management of the building security systems to maintain maximum security while not impacting negatively on the activities happening within the building;
  • Participating in the development of policies and procedures affecting the use of suppliers and facilities in the institution and planning for future development in line with strategic business objectives, including the development of back-up or alternative systems for common problems;
  • Ensuring the building continues to meet health and safety requirements and regulations;
  • Working towards ensuring the safety of the building and its occupants from hazards;

Requirements

  • Relevant post-grade 12 qualification or certification
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position with demonstrated success;
  • Possess a sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation within the built environment;
  • Computer literate;
  • Reliable, self-motivated, creative and adaptable individual;
  • Excellent skills with people at all levels, behave professionally and fairly at all times and be able to juggle multiple and often conflicting priorities with the ability to take control of a situation and resolve it with minimal disruption to the business operations;
  • Good problem-solving skills, good organizational skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Salary Offer

R14022 to R18 417 per month (excluding benefits), depending on experience and competence.
