The Workforce Development Coordinator will provide support to the Job Skills Training Manager and be responsible for a wide range of workforce service activities and day to day delivery of direct services, develop relationships with local businesses and organizations, recruit for open positions and market the program. The coordinator will provide a comprehensive set of support services designed to ensure the success of graduates of Ubuntu’s Job Skills Training Program as measured by high retention rates in employment opportunities.  The Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of assisting with identifying, designing, coordinating the services, social services and activities for graduates.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Ensure assigned program activities and grant requirements are implemented successfully.
• Identify, develop and maintain workforce development partnerships and network with other program coordinators.
• Develop effective working relationships with employers and maintain regular contact in order to monitor employment satisfaction.
• Assess the staffing needs of businesses and track employment placement and retention outcomes for program participants.
• Screen job seeker resumes, facilitate interviews, provide quality referrals to employers for employment and maintain an updated internal candidate pool.
• Facilitate workshops for eligible candidates and provide support to job pool candidates.
• Prepare materials for and support completion of monthly reports and budgets as requested.
• Gather, analyze and process program data.
• Create, maintain, and/or supervise an effective filing system to support programs and clients relations.
• Organize, plan, and execute workforce development events as necessary for various assigned projects.
• Participate in professional development through appropriate conferences, workshops, seminars, or webinars.
• Provide input to Manager and make recommendations for improvements to programs and the department.

  • Provide career support for graduates.  This includes but is not limited to: determining graduates need for services, determine area of interest for potential and future jobs and maintain an 80% retention rate for all graduates in caseload.
  • Provide career guidance and counseling. This includes but is not limited to: job selection, resume review, job search strategies, cover letter writing, career interest inventories, and connections with career resources both inside and outside the Ubuntu.
  • Provide frequent feedback as to the hiring trends and job market demands and how that impacts what our programs offer our clients.
  • Assist with events as specified (success workshops, graduate school exploration, cultural experiences, and welcome back programs and awards ceremonies).
  • Provide personal counseling as needed; determining when referrals to other agencies are needed.
  • Maintain and improve relationships that are assigned and maintain or increase the number of employment opportunities for alumni. This requires constant planning and following up on key relationships.
  • Document all employer relationships and job cultivation, ensuring these are kept up to date with changes/improvements resulting from visits.
  • Responsible for training and evaluating alumni to ensure that checklists for what the employer wants are completed fully before the candidate starts a job.
  • Follow up with employers through a variety of methods including e-mails, phone calls and visits.
  • Attend meetings, conferences and gatherings related to gaining or maintaining appropriate relations with employers.
  • Responsible for the overall success of events within the Alumni and employer engagement portfolio.

Educational Qualifications:
• Degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology or related field

Experience:

  • Previous experience, training or knowledge about workforce development, candidate screening and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in program management, specifically experience in either workforce development programs or as a recruitment manager or consultant.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve and exercise good judgment.
    • Skilled coordinating a variety of projects simultaneously.

Ubuntu is looking for a Pharmacist Assistant to aid the Pharmacist for a 6 week period.

Working Hours:

  • Mondays from 08h00 to 17h00
  • Wednesdays from 08h00 to 17h00

 Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and processes prescriptions and medication orders as per request.
  • Assist pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication orders and prescription.
  • Prepares, fills and compounds drugs orders by nurses and other authorized personnel.
  • Operates and uses appropriate techniques within system for storage, preparation and dispensing of medication agents and follows the healthcare centres policies regarding medication preparation and labelling, controlled substances reconciliation and purchasing of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
  • Assist the pharmacist in the retrieval of accurate, concise, applicable data relating to drug usage. Also be able to collect specific patient related information (e.g.: allergies, drug patient’s contraindications, side effects, dosages and storage of drugs, etc).
  • Provide and supply information or instructions relating to the correct use of drugs supplied.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
  • Receives and stores incoming stock or medical supplies according to the SOP and follow regulation
  • Performs along with pharmacist monthly stock count (monthly stock-take).
  • Clean equipment and instruments according to the prescribed methods. And also help maintain clean working environment in the pharmacy including keeping the area in order.
  • Monitor and record pharmacy areas, and refrigerator, daily temperature according to SOP.
  • Be able to answer telephone queries prompt and cautiously.
  • Be able to communicates with relevant personnel at Provincial Pharmaceutical Supply Depot (PPSD formerly known as PMSC) to ensure timely delivery of drugs, if requested.
  • Provides weekly adherence reports, monthly reports on down referral sites.
  • Provides pharmacy manager with statistical data as required.

Experience & Language Skills:

  • Be able to utilize pharmacy dispensing programs that Ubuntu uses.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common prescription codes/direction.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory bodies (e.g. PMSC, etc.).
  • Ability to write speeches routine reports and correspondences clearly.

Educational Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matriculation) certificate;

Position Summary:

The Team Coordinator will provide professional, high quality administration, coordination services and project support to the Executive Team of Ubuntu Pathways.

 Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Support to MD and Executive Team: – Provide administration support to the Executive team including travel, diary and email management, office administration system management, and meeting coordination, advise on conflicting events and carry out multiple rescheduling as necessary, provide secretarial support as required, sort, prioritise and draft internal and external correspondence as needed, develop and maintain office systems, including email and other electronic monitoring and filing, schedule meetings, including regular team meetings, and provide administrative support to meetings (organise attendees, venues and relevant catering requirements), prepare agendas and papers for circulation, book and co-ordinate manager’s travel and accommodation and undertake other duties are requested.
  • Team Support and Contribution – Provide general administrative support to the Executive team. This includes, but is not limited to:  travel, accommodation and itinerary arrangements for the team, provide liaison assistance to visitors, log mail and actions as required, manage work plan of the Executive Committee, attend team meetings and take notes as required, maintain a document register and system for storage and retrieval of all contracts, assist and coordinate material for internal and external reporting requirements, develop and maintain databases and office systems, assist with carrying out administration for meetings and events on-shore and off-shore, including liaising with and hosting international guests/clients, sourcing display material and coordinating presentations and work closely with other support staff within the organisation and provide mentoring support as required.
  • Project Administration and Coordination – provide project administration and management support to the teams. This will include:  maintaining the overall work plan and project plans, tracking key tasks, critical path and budgets, documenting the outcomes of projects and preparing regular reports against project progress in agreed format and content.
  • Administrative and Project Support for Programmes and Initiatives – provide programme administration and support to the teams, including: receiving and processing proposals and reports for the team as required, follow up customer queries and/or complaints quickly and thoroughly and keep customers informed throughout and maintain office business systems for the team.
  • Customer service – both internal and external customers and stakeholders. This includes:  understand and manage customer expectations, recognise and respond to opportunities to proactively meet customer needs, seek and use customer feedback to enhance services and delivery mechanisms and able to be diplomatic and discreet in the dealings.
  • Relationship Management – establish and sustain positive working relationships with people at all levels (internal and external customers).
